Review of I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK (2006) by Bill B — 02 Jul 2009
A troubled young woman is committed; thinking that she is a cyborg, she refuses to eat any human food, trying to recharge herself by licking at batteries.
In the asylum she meets an equally disturbed guy, a thief who seems more aware of his situation than some of the other patients, and tries to help them out by 'taking away' the things that bother them.
He eventually sets about helping the cyborg girl, falling in love in the process.
This is a surreal, quirky and sweet film, I was very impressed by all the varying bits of comedy, drama and emotion that director Park Chan-wook put into this.
Recommended.
