Review of I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK (2006) by Jebus C — 15 Mar 2010
Charming and kooky film from Oldboy director Chan-wook Park. It works perfectly for half the movie. All the weird little supporting roles in the insane asylum and the girl's nutball grandmother who thinks she's a mouse.
Then comes the strange romantic part of the film, which doesn't really work at all. The second half is hard to watch and the movie fizzles away. Which is sad. Still Park remains one of the most exciting directors working today and continues to make different movies.
For that he must be praised.
