Review of Ilona Arrives with the Rain (1996) by Andres G — 02 Aug 2008
This is a lovely, well-crafted film, well acted but strangely devoid of real emotion that somehow manages to evoke the magical words of Mutis. It is not strong or memorable enough to replace the author's words and the images it creates from one's mind, and this is a good thing.
Good effort by Cabrera, beautifully shot and nicely paced if too thorough and somewhat silly in parts.
