Review of Ilona Arrives with the Rain (1996) by Matt M — 13 Apr 2013
In Panama city, two of three long lost lovers meet again and set up one last heist, an airport themed brothel, that will hopefully enable them to retire at sea on a cargo boat that the third is working on acquiring.
However, the wait becomes dangerously long. Though it draws inspiration from an acclaimed novel by Columbian writer Mutis, the film itself builds a nice atmosphere throughout, but is itself forgettable and dies out in the second part.
