There seems to be a growing trend in horror films ('All the Boys Love Mandy Lane' and 'S. Darko,' for example) whereby it looks like the director has just stepped out of film school, fresh faced and eager to make horror arty and stylish.
Oooh, pretty skies, oooh, stupid saturation, oooh, quick edits, oooh, unnecessary flashes, oooh, fast zooms, oooh, crane shots, oooh, underwater shot. Throw it all together and it's annoying and looks shit.
