Review of Ikiru (1952) by Mike C — 01 Jun 2008
Beautiful. A meditation on what really matters in life. And it asks the question--for whom do we do what we do? (not to mention "why?") Oddly, with nothing more disturbing than the actions of others, this movie will remain with you--but will it move you to change how you live? In this lies the essence that is the greatness of Ikiru (and Kurosawa).
