Review of Ikiru (1952) by Lynda M — 18 Mar 2009
Kurosawa makes Watanabe's conversion, revival, resurrection as inspiring as it is pure. Shimura, a superb actor, makes his character a plausible saint, who can find poetry in a simple song, or sitting on a playground swing.
One of the finest films I have seen.
