Review of Ikiru (1952) by Carol H — 21 May 2010
Film that actually depressed me at first, making me worry about not making the most of my life, and what itll be like when death finally comes, and how it comes, good performances and good acting made the first 2/3 or so quite effective, as watanabe tries to make the most of his remaining time, not as effective was the final third or so, which I thought spent too much time trying to attack bureaucracy than being about death and the protagonist, tho how the process of building the park is done, via the flashbacks, is a nice touch, its also funny seeing the japanese trying to speak english, sorry but I couldnt help but laugh.
