Review of Ikiru (1952) by Hasib H — 01 Jun 2012
Kurosawa has made some of the greatest films that I've ever seen and this one is clearly one of his best imo. There are only two other Kurosawa films that I hold in as high regard as this one: 7 Samurai and Rashomon.
However, this one is different since it isn't a Samurai film. Kurosawa goes away from his usual pattern and makes one of the most beautiful and most deeply affecting films that I've ever seen in my life.
If you have never seen this film, do yourself a favor and do so....you will not regret it.
