Review of Ikiru (1952) by Matthew R — 03 Jan 2013
Ikiru is a bit heavy-handed at times, and it could certainly have been streamlined a bit, but this humanist tale about a man yearning to make his final days count is still very affecting all the same. It is the kind of film which will cause many to re-evaluate their lives, and it also doubles as a scathing commentary on bureaucracy.
