Review of Igby Goes Down (2002) by Derek D — 21 Jan 2008
A poignant comedy sporting terrific performances. It goes dangerously into a thematic territory that is marred by movies that overstate themselves or fail to articulate, and it has drawn criticism simply for being in that territory, championing a new-age Holden Caulfield.
This movie, however, is fresh and original, with a uniquely biting sense of humor. An inspiration if found at the right age, but pure pleasure at any stage of life.
