A truly amazing and inspired piece of work. All the characters are well thought out, and their interactions and plot arcs are amazingly complex and real.
Despite being a movie about a depressed, directionless teen, "Igby goes down" is very funny in brief moments. In that sarcastic, dry and sad sort of way that anyone who would like this movie will be very familiar with.
It definitely made me think of "catcher in the rye". The cast is amazing, all around. The casting was perfect, I can't imagine anyone fitting any of the roles any better.
