Review of Idlewild (2006) by Jasmine V — 08 Dec 2006
An inventive, toe-tapping and amazing musical that blends hip-hop and prohibition era jazz for an overall cinematic feel similar to "A Knight's Tale" (i.e. classic rock in the middle ages).
One can also expect to be amazed that Outkast can not only make music but they actually have some acting abilities that lend themselves toward telling a fun, different and off-beat story of love, wasted chances, loyalty and redemption.
The most creative and original new cinematic musical in awhile.
