Review of Idiocracy (2006) by Gavin S — 11 Jun 2010
Mike Judge will get his credit many years from now as a great satirist of our time. While this movie isn't exactly the funniest thing out there, the premise of showing a preview into our dumbed-down, super-sized "culture" of the future is a great setting. Luke Wilson is perfect as an every-man, much like he is in every movie, easy to relate to for many people. Judge's film takes a stab at the idiots of today and what happens if they keep procreating. (One of the funniest scenes is regarding the difference in having kids between smart and stupid people, and so bang on).
Worth watching if the idea interests you, but if you don't dig the premise, then you won't enjoy the film all that much.
