Review of Ichi the Killer (2001) by Brett C — 12 Jun 2008

By all means, a story about a yakuza boss going missing along with 3 million yen should be a simple crime thriller sort of thing, but seeing as how this is Takashi Miike we're talking about, based on a crazy manga, it's anything but.

The bizarre characters are really what makes this film. I'm sure there's a moral, a message, somewhere in there about sexual desire and sado-masochism...Fun stuff.
