Review of Ichi the Killer (2001) by Niklas S — 16 Sep 2009
After "Visitor Q" Miike upped his game a little bit. What I mean by this is his violence. "Ichi th Killer" got known as one of the most violent movies when it came out. It's very offensive at times especially when women get beaten in the face with baseball bats.
I guess he had to stay true to the genre. Tadanobu is fantastic as always and deliver one of his most memorable roles ever. I guess blood and guts can be beautiful.
