Review of Ichi the Killer (2001) by Jon B — 10 Aug 2010
Omg this one was so FUBB XD.
An asian film of definate cult-classic potential based on a cult-classic anime/manga. The story follows around an one insane little man and his band of Yakuza buddies. They go around killing and torturing those who may be involved in the disappearances of the main character's killer.
Yes, it's just as crazy and messed up as it looks by the cover. People die. People get cut up. People get tortured. People die horribly. They find strange ways to commit the acts against a person and somehow they find ways to almost turn it into a dark comedy.
Acting is... well... idk.. it's in Japanese. But hey they do show emotion so I guess it's good. Special effects are well done when it comes to cutting things and torture sequeces. They can really make your stomach turn even if your a Quinten Terrentino or Audition fan.
Rent it and hope you have a strong stomach. Don't forget the popcorn.
