Review of ICHI (2008) by David S — 17 Oct 2010
Despite its unique premise, Ichi is a rather average, run-of-the-mill samurai swordplay flic. One doesn't gripe about plain characters or plot in such a film, but I do take issue with its surprising lack of swordplay.
You'd think a story in which every major and minor character intends to fight with swords would be chock-full-o' dazzling sword fights, but, alas, the film is a shade too timid in this regard.
Still, worth it if you're craving a little action.
