While Dreamworks and Pixar had a lot of succesful films at the time, Ice Age sudenly came out of nowhere under the production of 20th Century Fox. It's been a long time since I last wathced it. But from what I remember, it was hilarious.
The characters were funny, and there were a lot of jokes that worked well. But I have to admit that the sequels got worse everytime (though I have yet to see the last film).
