Released way back in 2002, not long after Shrek, I actually managed to miss this in the cinema, only catching it on TV roughly four years later, just before the release of Ice Age 2 and, I have to say, I actually quite enjoyed it (big kid that I am!).
Most of the comedy is provided courtesy of Sid the Sloth, but Scrat the sabre-toothed squirrel (who 'bookends' the film and also occassionally appears throughout) has to be one of the most memorable animated characters in recent memory: so much so, that he also appears in the two subsequent sequels.
