Review of I Wake Up Screaming (1941) by David S — 05 Mar 2008
I didn't really have any idea what to expect when I saw the title "I Wake Up Screaming," but what I got was no where near what would have been expected. I guess I'm a little jaded by modern movies, and kept expecting a really crazy twist, but after I got done with the movie, I realized that in 1941 they wouldn't have made the main character the killer.
The actual killer was kind of a let down, but what was going on in the background with the detective was great. Speaking of the detective, Laird Cregar did an amazing job playing this really creepy guy.
It was kind of odd that he was so creepy, but in the end, it really defined the character. If you like film noir, or are looking to get into it, check this one out, it's pretty good.
