Review of I Vitelloni (1953) by Peter H — 13 Sep 2007
I think I watched this film at the exact right time in my life, that time where you have to leave foolish youth behind and make your mark in the world. Becoming an adult sucks. But it happens and you can't avoid it.
These guys are "living the dream" lounging about, getting drunk and refusing to grow up, thumbing their nose at work and responsibility. But in this film, they learn about what really matters, and that age catches up to you, sometimes on a cold night, sometimes hitting you in face, and sometimes early in the morning, when you realize you've got to take control of your life.
GENIUS! I LOVE IT!
