Review of I Vitelloni (1953) by Ld P — 27 Dec 2008
Excellent film. highest rating. I will put more here tomorrow. Gives a glimpse into a lifestyle Americans are not acquainted with. (And probably does not exist today-now WE ALL must work Italian men also!!) Truly a great story and great framing and cinematography by Fellini.
incredible psychological portraits of the inhabitants of this small Italian town. I wondered why he made such a fashion statement of this place. I cant see the inhabitants of this small place dressing so formally all the time.
Excellent Fashion and styling and the mens suits would still be in fashion today!! I still felt they were overdressed through out the movie. Later here I will make a few comments about the films plot .
Fellini's other earier work "Nights of Cabriria" is one of my all time favorite films. I saw newly restored version on the big screen a few years ago in Dallas. Wow was that film good also.
I understand in 2004 a new 35mm print of this film was released. Excellent film. highest rating.
