Review of I, Tonya (2017) by Cinemacrush — 10 Feb 2018
Two words, fast & fun. Thanks to the beyond brilliant and unique editing. One of the most undersung films of this year, despite it's few accolades. It deserves MORE. The employment of swift soliloquy and iconoclastic at-odds double narrative, 'I, Tonya' jumps around in frantic beauty, reaccounting the testimonies of both Jeff & Tonya.
Superb ensemble cast, including the show-stealer in Allison Janney. It might not take home any best picture trophies, but 'I, Tonya' is surely one of the most entertaining and uniquely told stories of the year.
One wouldn't even have to be interested in the true story, or even be familiar with it, to enjoy this gem of 2017.
