Review of I, Tonya (2017) by Dane M — 25 Nov 2018
The rednecks give a great big 'fuck you' to the establishment. Allison Brooks Janney is brilliant as the mother. Margot Robbie makes her that way. The two are like bookends. Badass bookends who prop up each other in one big swearing contest.
It's cringingly funny and hopeless in a good way. I, Tonya is a must see. Everyone, right down to the 'fucking' parrot props this film up beautifully right up to 'the incident'.
The music is well chosen as we move to the dénouement. And the surprise? We feel for her. She was rooked.
