Review of I, Tonya (2017) by Joseph B — 11 Jan 2018
Like its subject "I, Tonya" fails to qualify. It's insistence on rewriting history to absolve and sanctify its lead actress's character(in much the same manor that sank Ms. Bening's "Film Stars") produces not the absolution desired by the screenwriter but simply a well composed exhibit for its subject's unethical, duplicitous and conspiratorial guilt.
Harding wants to be remembered as much a victim as her Olympic rival but simply confirms the common appraisal of just being common.
