Review of I Think I Love My Wife (2007) by E.j. T — 21 Jun 2008
I was excited to see a mature Chris Rock movie, and it was. However, it is a little uneven. Most of the time it had a straight, serious narrative, then switches over to out of the blue, sketch-type humor before going back to the regular storytelling.
I like this movie, but if there was a better balance found and some better jokes, I would've really liked it. There are some great bits in here, but most of the time, where we were supposed to laugh at the character or the situation, I moreso felt sorry for the them.
Great cameo by Stephen A. Smith and some solid directing by Rock, but he still has some kinks to iron out.
