Review of I Think I Love My Wife (2007) by Seph P — 17 Jul 2012
I Think I Love My Wife is an expected, done-it-all-before yet satisfying romantic comedy directed by and starring Chris Rock. When Richard Cooper?s life is suddenly filled with constant boredom because his wife doesn?t have sex with him, he fantasizes about what intercourse or what his life would be like with women he sees going to and from work.
And when a longtime friend (played by a very sexy Kerry Washington) visits him one day, he is shocked beyond belief. She?s beautiful, gorgeous, and funny. And she returns to his office every day. This reaches a point where it?s impossible to be left alone, and he becomes very attracted to her.
The stress and troubles he is now involved in play well and it?s an interesting little film. We?ve seen this type of genre before, countless times. But with Chris Rock in the seat and as the main character, many black and sex jokes will be thrown at you.
I was amazed that I would be delighted as I cheered for Cooper in the film. With a couple of problems and an old plot, this film still deserves some attention. B-.
