Review of I Spit on Your Grave (2010) by Mark D — 02 May 2011
Struggles to achieve the same shock effect that the original achieved in its day, in fact I think I remember the rape scene in the original as being more excruciating than here, though it's been a while, I could be wrong.
The mere brutal vengeance is here replaced by a more poetic approach to retaliation, inducing satisfying catharsis in the viewer. Shock value aside, more skilled film-making and better overall production values make this one more watchable.
