Review of I Spit on Your Grave (2010) by Ttt C — 28 Mar 2011
Sickening showdown.
This film starts off terribly, with the first 20 minutes extremely boring, but then really heats up to an alarming state. The film is then quite sickening for a while, including filmed gang rape. Then the final half hour is an escaped victim's torturous revenge on the hill-billy gang.
Overall the film is ok, one for horror fans, and the revenge elements are graphic and shocking. This didn't need to be a remake as it is ok stand-alone, as a modern horror revenge shocker. Nothing new, dark, bold, graphic if not predictable enough to underwhelm.
Story - A young, pretty girl stays in a woodlands cabin alone to write. She comes across a group of redknecks who then predictably, and sickeningly, terrorise her, and film it too. Before they can kill her she escapes, and a finale ensues.
