Review of I Smile Back (2015) by Vincent S — 19 Dec 2015
Sarah Silverman on a major detour from her usual comedic performances. A very serious, dramatic & personally powerful film about inherited mental disorders, abandonment & self hate & how they lend themselves to alcohol, drug abuse, eating disorders and sex addiction.
Parents damage their children, people destroy themselves, families are torn apart. 2nd viewing today moved me more than the 1st time. I identified with so many aspects of this film & I am amazed at the amount of emotion that was packed into just 85 minutes.
Amazing & highly recommended.
