Review of I Shot Andy Warhol (1996) by Michael H — 04 Jul 2008
One of those movies - even though unsettling and disturbing. I can't stop watching it. Lili Taylor should have won the Oscar that year and wasn't even nominated. The most unlikable character ever and I loved her to death - her twiitchy mannerisms and then blank stares - off into her own world and then back again.
Total madness but not once does Lily comment on her character. Lili Taylor knows this tortured soul and gleefully inhabits it. It's funny, heartbreaking and alive. I like the way they captured THE FACTORY as well.
Brilliant movie. And Stephen Doriff has never been better.
