Review of I Sell the Dead (2008) by Elijah S — 12 Aug 2009
Fantastic little Hammer-styled campy horror throwback flick. One of the main reasons it works so well is casting so many actors who know this genre (Fessenden, Scrimm and Monaghan), so watching them having such a blast plasters a smile to your face the whole time.
Director/writer McQuaid does remarkably well with his miniscule budget...whether it's combining real locations, soundstages, matte paintings and CGI to create a wholly original look to the surroundings, or throwing in left-field touches that you don't see coming (just wait until you see what's buried in the frozen ground).
Wonderful, this guy has a career ahead of him.
