Review of I Sell the Dead (2008) by Phil N — 20 Oct 2009
Set in the 18th century, two grave-robbers discover thereâ??s a lucrative market in the undead, cue mayhem. Told mostly in flashback as they await the gallows, itâ??s light in tone and aims to recreate the feel of the old Hammer and Amicus horrors.
Points for originality, but the story and characters never really engage despite the presence of genre vets Ron Perlman and Angus Scrimm. Disappointing, I fast-forwarded the dead.
