Review of I Never Sang for My Father (1970) by Jeff B — 15 Feb 2010
Dialogue driven film starring Gene Hackman as a son who has a hard time communicating with his father Melvyn Douglas. Hackman and Douglas are great together (however I'm wondering why Douglas was nominated for Lead and Hackman for Supporting) and Estelle Parsons aslo gave a great performance as Hackman's sister.
A sad film, particularly the moment in the funeral home where they have to pick a casket. And the final segment is acting at its finest.
