Review of I Melt with You (2011) by Jota B — 20 Nov 2012
Shallow characters but perfect for the 80 degree fall the quartet face. It may be over stylized and unrealistic and the melodrama can be a little overwhelming at times, but at its core this film is as effective in its depressing melodrama as The Hangover is in its overly optimistic comedic sense.
Four guys get wasted in an attempt to escape their lives, but instead of being reborn they... well... I don't want to spoil anything. If real people were as loyal to our friends and to themselves as these characters are to each other the world would face a pathetic end.
For the purposes of this movie, it works out just fine.
