IMO the only reason this film currently holds only 57% with viewers is because a large part of the population has a problem with homosexuality, and another part has a problem with not taking gay issues, including AIDS, seriously *enough*.
Even others may not like the fact that he starts conning at the same time he decides to live gay. This is not the choice of the writers. He is a gay con man, it happens. The whole thing seems farcical, but, truth is stranger than fiction.
If you like gays, or don't have a problem with them either way, you will like this I think.
