The story is about Steven Russell who is a small-town cop who was bored with his bland lifestyle turns to fraud as a gay guy to shake things up and so therefore, his white-collar criminal antics have ended him up behind the bars in prison where he encounters his sensitive cellmate Philip Morris and falls in love with him.

Steven devotes his entire life to being with Philip which could well include a life sentence. This fact-based black comedy is not only hilarious at times but is also dramatic at times, you get to feel for the characters and both Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor share the best moments on-screen together from beginning to end.

I Love You Philip Morris gets a 8.45/10.
