Review of I Love You, Beth Cooper (2009) by Seba O — 15 Feb 2012
I Love You Beth Cooper was a cliched and awkward teen-oriented comedy that was sloppily directed. To say that I was not impressed would be a gross understatement. The script featured a few very typical characters: the hot crush, the nerd with the crush, the hot crush's airheaded friends and of course, the infamous bully that you love to hate.
Although this bully was a cokehead member of the military, which resulted in a character that was more awkward than menacing. The "wild night that changes everything" idea was nothing new to the equation either.
Overall this movie failed due to it's reliance on high school movie stereotypes, but even more so to it's inability to utilize these stereotypes to a passable capacity.
