My favourite Powell/Pressburger film, with a vibrant Wendy Hiller as rather connving Joan, determined to marry well! Instead, she is trapped on a remote Scottish island with the appealing Roger Livesey.
Atmospheric and beautiful to look at, it is also a sweet romance. Lovely film.
