Review of I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell (2009) by Johannes S — 02 Dec 2010
The critics will have you believe this movie is bad because the main character - the sociopathic Tucker Max - is unlikable, and because it is essentially a failed "The Hangover" rip-off. True to a limited extent, but don't write it off so quickly.
The film contains some sharp, albeit crass, dialog and is interesting to Tucker's blog readers as it illustrates the extent of this guy's narcissism and how he views himself. Funnily enough, for someone so cruel and impulsive as him, this film shows that Tucker sees himself as appreciated by everyone around him despite his admittedly antisocial approach to life...
Worth watching on TV if you follow his blog/books, otherwise probably not going to be of interest unless high/drunk/both.
