Review of I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell (2009) by Pheasant W — 07 Aug 2010
A movie based on a book about an egotistical, condescending, and sexist man who has lots of sex, gloats, and is an unlikable "Van Wilder." The personality driven by the main character is not my flair of comedy.
He is a "go-there" type of character. The intellectual, metaphorical, and long-winded prose used in the film separates itself from a "true story." Furthermore, the plot is similar to "The Hangover," so it lacks originality and positions itself as a b-rated (or d-list) film.
This film will only appease a small niche, and is not intended for everyone.
