Review of I Hate Valentine's Day (2009) by Jess C — 09 Feb 2010
Nia Vardalos' character starts out all happy because she was completely in denial about love and relationships. She limited her dating to 5 dates maximum so there was only the fun and no chance to get hurt.
All happy go lucky because she refused to acknowledge anything that made her unhappy.....
Until she meets John Corbett's character, of course. Because he is what he's best at- charming and lovely and impossible not to love.
Then she has to confront that her father's infidelity scared her from ever chancing being hurt and that she has to accept that it's worth the chance to be truly happy.
You may think I am ruining the plot for you, but really, 5 minutes into the movie you know exactly where it's going. Predictable, but fun to watch.
Especially "Oops" & "Uh-oh.".
