Review of I Hate Valentine's Day (2009) by Colleen B — 30 Nov 2011

This flick was painfully awkward, trite and forced. John Corbett did a decent job but it's not his best film by a long shot. Nia Vardalos's performance was just atrocious though. Throughout the whole film she felt very robotic and stiff in a Stepford Wife, creepy sort of way with absolutely every line, facial expression and gesture! Most of the time I just wanted to hit her so she would stop her incessant, fake, overly enthusiastic smiling.

But the cherry swimming around in this awful, soupy, melted sundae is that there was ZERO chemistry between Corbett and Vardalos. In the end I recommend skipping this flick and opting for a dental cleaning instead!
