Review of I Give It a Year (2013) by Sam S — 28 Feb 2013
Rom-coms? Not my cup of tea really. Out of all movie genres, it is the one I do my best to avoid at all costs. However, "I Give It A Year" takes the typical tried and true formula of rom-coms and puts a unique little twist on it, and the end result is one of the funniest movies to come out of Britain in years.
The lead actors, Rose Byrne, Rafe Spall, Anna Faris and Simon Baker are great in their roles and have good on-screen chemistry together. But it's Stephen Merchant who absolutely just kills it here, stealing every scene he's in with his trademark politically incorrect humour, just a pity he weren't in the movie more.
All in all, with a simple yet enjoyable premise and terrific laugh out loud moments, I can honestly say that I will buy "I Give It A Year" on Blu-ray. Funny as hell and is definitely something I'd wanna watch again.
