A cruder British rom-com than I'm used to this has some funny moments and a strong comic performance from Rafe Spall. Unfortunately Byrne's character is annoying and therefore half of the romantic storyline becomes redundant.
Nevertheless the story is a nice twist on the usual 'boy meets girl' plot even if it's not really a date movie like Richard Curtis films.
