Review of I Feel Pretty (2018) by Jessica F — 23 Apr 2018

I do not understand why this film is receiving such poor scores, and I'm sorry but the critic's consensus (especially when dominated by white, straight males) is not always correct. If you cannot sit down and enjoy a fun film and message that makes you laugh, and yes, does make you feel just a little bit more confident in life, that just makes you feel good, than I'm sorry for you.

Why take life, and everything, so seriously? I am a film school graduate, and prolific cinephile, and yes, even I know how to take a movie for what it is. As a reminiscent throwback to some of the best 90's comedies, and Amy Schumer's brilliant performance, I personally think they knocked it out of the ballpark with this one.

And I don't care what any mediocre film critic says. As far as I'm concerned, this film should be required viewing for any woman, or man.
