This is not a perfect movie. Why do I like it so much? It ostensibly skewers the women's fashion/beauty industry, in Devil Wears Prada mode. HOWEVER, IFP has a broader intent/critique aimed more generally at Western (urban) culture.
It's NOT aiming at being perfect itself. That's like an implicit message. IFP is comedy w/ a serious edge. That tension and 'contradiction'--and of course hot mess Schumer-- make it work, kind of accidently/brilliantly.
Seriously good and funny.
