Review of I Feel Pretty (2018) by Isaac G — 28 May 2018
Additionally, I'd like to mention that most of these negative reviews (at least that I've seen) are from male critics on this site who've never had to deal with the same problems women today face.
That's not to say that men don't have their own issues in today's society, but when sh**tting on a movie surrounding feminist ideals because of its feminist ideals that don't suit what you want feminism to be, it's important for the rest of us to take these comments with a grain of salt considering they're coming from men.
Of course men can be and often are feminists, it's important to be educated ones and understand that feminism is not one sided or a one-size-fits-all. Feminism is just fighting for equality and empowering women (often times empowering men too) and if this movie made even one woman feel better about herself, or become determined to do so, it's done it's job.
A movie not suiting what you need from feminism does not make it a bad movie. Lol okay thanks sorry for the rant.
