Neither the script nor the acting are strong. And there's no happy Hollywood ending. If you're looking for a sense of what it might be like to exchange a safe, comfortable life for one chock full of physical toil, dangerous animals, violence, drought and sand storms this is the film for you.
There's lots of stunning footage of Africa here, but enough grim realism to give anyone contemplating such a lifestyle change sober second thoughts.
